Oxford Health Plans

Oxford Health Plans is a UnitedHealthcare company. UnitedHealthcare, along with its sister company Uniprise Solutions, serves more than 18 million individual customers across all 50 states and in four international markets. It has more than 433,000 physicians and 3,600 hospitals.

Oxford Health Plans itself was founded in 1984. Today, it provides health plans to employers and individuals in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The company offers a number of individual health insurance plans, including HMO and PPO options. Plans provide a variety of benefits, including, in most cases, no charge for an annual physical; no charge for covered lab work sent to in-network laboratory facilities; no charge for routine preventive in-network pediatric care or office visits or in-network childhood immunizations; access to your choice of OB/GYN without a referral; and a mail-order pharmacy service for certain maintenance medications.

The company also offers a number of support services through its Active PartnerŪ and Healthy BonusSM programs. For example, reminder mailings are sent to members who have not received a preventive exam within the recommended time period (based on clinical guidelines). These mailings are personalized to address the unique healthcare needs of members: Depending on your needs, you might receive a childhood immunization reminder, mammogram reminder, pap smear reminder or flu shot reminder.
